Croda, a speciality chemicals manufacturer, has invested approximately GBP 50 million in a new alkoxylation facility in Dahej, Gujarat, as part of its manufacturing expansion in India. The investment was among several British business initiatives recently highlighted during a UK-India business summit held in July.

The greenfield facility is designed to increase Croda’s capacity to supply products based on alkoxylation chemistry. According to the company, the site is powered entirely by renewable electricity and includes a zero liquid effluent discharge system. During construction, over five million staff hours were recorded without a lost time injury.

“We welcome this agreement as a catalyst for deeper UK-India collaboration in innovation and trade. Our new site in Dahej is a great example of how we’re scaling up sustainable manufacturing to meet demand in fast-growing markets in Asia,” said Steve Foots, Chief Executive Officer.

Croda International Plc is a British speciality chemicals manufacturer that supplies ingredients and technologies to sectors including personal care, healthcare, crop care, and industrial applications.
