Centum Electronics Limited has begun construction of a new 20,900 square metre (225,000 square foot) facility for its Strategic Electronics Business Unit at the Devanahalli Aerospace Park in Bengaluru. The groundbreaking ceremony was conducted on 27 November 2025, marking a major expansion of the company’s defence, aerospace and space manufacturing operations. It is designed to support higher production volumes and advanced integration activities.

The new facility is planned as a consolidated centre for microelectronics, subsystem assembly, system integration and environmental testing. It is expected to house production of hybrid microcircuits, power and radio-frequency modules, inertial electronics and satellite-grade subsystems within a single location to enhance throughput and operational efficiency.

“Centum marks a pivotal moment in its 32-year journey with the groundbreaking of its 225,000 sq ft SEBU division facility at Devanahalli Aerospace Park, a testament to its evolution from a modest 25,000 sq ft start-up,” said Apparao Mallavarapu, Chairman and Managing Director of Centum Electronics. He added: “This facility signifies Centum’s confidence in future growth and its role as a preferred global OEM partner.” Mallavarapu also noted the presence of employees from different phases of the company’s history, including those involved in its early infrastructure projects and newer staff who will support the next stage of growth.

Devanahalli Aerospace Park forms part of the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board’s aerospace and defence cluster, offering proximity to the Kempegowda International Airport and access to specialised suppliers and testing infrastructure. The location is expected to support Centum’s expansion across radar electronics, electronic warfare subsystems, guidance and communication electronics, and satellite payload equipment.

The Strategic Electronics Business Unit delivers systems and modules for defence avionics, missile systems, satellite platforms and radar programmes. The expanded site is expected to support additional engineering functions, cleanroom operations and qualification activities as the company increases its manufacturing scale for domestic and international customers.

Centum Electronics Limited, established in 1993, operates design and manufacturing centres in India, France and Canada. Its portfolio includes microelectronics, embedded systems, power electronics and high-reliability assemblies for defence, aerospace, space, industrial and medical applications.
