Hi-Tech Pipes Limited, a manufacturer of steel pipes, tubes and coated steel products, laid the foundation stone for a greenfield manufacturing project at Hindupur, Andhra Pradesh, on 13 November 2025. The facility will add 150,000 tonnes per annum of coated steel capacity to support customers in southern and western India.
The project involves an investment of approximately INR 1 billion and will be funded entirely through internal accruals. It is scheduled for completion by Q2 FY28 and forms part of the company’s plan to expand total installed capacity to 2 million tonnes per annum. The Hindupur location is positioned near Bengaluru to improve logistics efficiency and delivery timelines for regional markets.
The company currently operates an installed capacity of 750,000 tonnes per annum across its manufacturing network. Ongoing brownfield and greenfield expansions are expected to add 300,000 tonnes by Q3 FY26, lifting near-term availability. Current capacity utilisation stands at 66 percent, and the company expects the new coated steel unit to strengthen its presence in southern markets while increasing its contribution from value-added products.
The project details include the planned 0.15 million tonne capacity addition, the investment amount and the use of internal resources for funding. The facility will focus on coated steel products, which constitute one of the company’s key value-added segments.
Hi-Tech Pipes Limited operates integrated manufacturing facilities at Sikandrabad in Uttar Pradesh, Sanand in Gujarat, Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh and Khopoli in Maharashtra. Its national distribution footprint covers more than 20 states through a network of over 450 dealers and distributors.
