Renolit SE has extended its joint venture with APPL Industries Limited for a further 15 years, reinforcing its long-term presence in India and its expansion plans across Asia. The extension applies to APPL GOR India Plastics Pvt. Ltd., the joint venture through which Renolit has operated in the Indian market for nearly 15 years.

The continuation of the partnership secures Renolit’s access to India, which remains a key market for the company’s growth strategy. The joint venture has evolved from an initial focus on composite sheets for the automotive sector into a broader manufacturing base with local teams and infrastructure supporting multiple industrial segments.

As part of its ongoing investment in India, Renolit has commissioned a new production line at the joint venture facility. The line will manufacture Reapply, a coated solution for construction formwork applications. The product is designed for use in wall and foundation construction, where conventional plywood formwork typically has a limited service life.

“With our Renolit coating, we significantly increase the reusability of these casings,” said Torsten Maschke, Executive Board Member of Renolit. “For our customers, this means less material use and more cost-effectiveness.” The company said the product is intended to reduce material consumption on construction sites by extending the usable life of formwork panels.

In parallel with the extended joint venture, Renolit is investing in a separate manufacturing facility in India to produce membranes for pumped storage power plants. The company did not disclose the investment value or production capacity of the planned plant. Pumped storage membranes are used in hydroelectric infrastructure projects that support grid stability and energy storage.

Maschke said the combination of the joint venture extension, the launch of a new product line, and investment in an additional plant reflects the company’s approach to building a diversified manufacturing footprint in India. He added that the partnership with APPL Industries remains a central element of Renolit’s regional strategy.

APPL GOR India Plastics Pvt. Ltd. operates as a joint venture between Renolit and APPL Industries Limited, serving customers in sectors including automotive and construction. Over the past 15 years, the site has expanded its technical capabilities and local workforce to support domestic demand.

Renolit SE is a Germany-based manufacturer of polymer solutions, including films, sheets, and membranes used in automotive, construction, and industrial applications. The company operates production and sales sites in multiple countries and continues to expand its manufacturing presence in Asia.
