Mitsu Chem Plast Limited, a manufacturer of polymer-based moulded products, has proposed to commence manufacturing operations at a new facility in Boisar, Maharashtra, as part of its expansion strategy. The proposed unit is expected to add incremental production capacity and support the company’s growing operational requirements across multiple end-use sectors.

The new facility is located at the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Industrial Area in Taluka Boisar, Palghar district, and has been taken on a leave and licence basis. The unit is planned as an extension of the company’s existing manufacturing footprint in the state, where it already operates multiple production facilities.

Mitsu Chem Plast currently operates three manufacturing units in Maharashtra, with two units in Tarapur and one in Khalapur. These facilities together have an installed manufacturing capacity of more than 29,000 metric tonnes per annum. As of the quarter ended September 2025, the company was operating at an overall capacity utilisation of about 68 percent, indicating available headroom for additional volumes.

The proposed Boisar facility is expected to add around 900 metric tonnes per annum to the company’s total manufacturing capacity. The company plans to invest approximately INR 10.1 million toward the purchase of new machinery for the facility, with the investment to be funded entirely through internal accruals.

The capacity addition is intended to improve operational flexibility, support incremental demand, and optimise production planning without placing significant strain on existing facilities. The additional capacity is also expected to enhance delivery timelines and responsiveness to customer requirements.

“The proposed commencement of manufacturing operations at our Boisar facility is a natural step in our growth journey,” said Jagdish Dedhia, Chairman of Mitsu Chem Plast Limited. “The additional capacity will help us serve our customers better, improve delivery timelines, and create more flexibility in our manufacturing operations,” he said.

Mitsu Chem Plast Limited reported total revenue of INR 3.33 billion in the financial year ended March 2025. The company recorded earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation of INR 232.8 million and a profit after tax of INR 72.5 million during the same period.

Mitsu Chem Plast Limited manufactures blow-moulded and injection-moulded polymer products, including industrial packaging, infrastructure furniture components, hospital furniture parts and safety equipment. The company supplies to original equipment manufacturers across sectors such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and infrastructure and operates manufacturing facilities in Maharashtra.
