Fronius India Private Limited has set up a Welding Technician Lab at the Aditya Birla Skills Center – Swarna Navadisha Center in Kuppam, Andhra Pradesh, as part of an initiative to strengthen technical skilling infrastructure aligned with manufacturing requirements. The facility was inaugurated on 30 January 2026 and is intended to support welding education and workforce readiness for industrial applications.

The lab forms part of a collaboration with Hindalco Industries Limited, a flagship metals company of the Aditya Birla Group, and the Government of Andhra Pradesh to establish an Advanced Technical Training Centre of Excellence focused on welding. The centre is designed to provide structured training and hands-on exposure to welding processes relevant to manufacturing and fabrication activities.

The Welding Technician Lab is equipped with welding systems and training infrastructure supplied by Fronius India. The company said its contribution centres on providing advanced welding technology to support skill development programmes that reflect current and anticipated needs of the manufacturing sector. The facility is intended to enable trainees to develop practical competencies for industrial environments.

The initiative is positioned as part of a broader industry–government collaboration aimed at strengthening workforce development. Fronius India said the partnership model is intended to align vocational training with industry requirements while supporting the development of a technically skilled labour pool for manufacturing operations.

The inauguration was attended by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Senior representatives from Hindalco Industries Limited, including Sukhendu Ghosh, Samik Basu, Kopal Agrawal, Manoranjan Mahakud, and Shweta Kavishwar, were also present at the event. The participation of multiple stakeholders reflected the industry–government collaboration underpinning the initiative.

The centre’s stated objective includes supporting national manufacturing growth by improving access to technical training infrastructure and promoting skills relevant to high-technology and sustainable manufacturing processes. The Welding Technician Lab is expected to serve as a platform for structured training programmes focused on industrial welding applications.
