Toyo Ink India Pvt. Ltd. inaugurated the artience Technology and Innovation Centre – India (aTIC-India) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, marking the artience Group’s first research centre outside Japan.

aTIC-India has been established in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science and is located on its campus. The centre is intended to support advanced research and industrial applications across infrastructure, communication, healthcare, energy and advanced electronics. The company stated that the initiative reflects the Group’s long-term commitment to India as a manufacturing and innovation hub.

The centre will focus on molecular-level research aimed at developing next-generation materials with an emphasis on sustainability and performance. The collaboration between Toyo Ink India and IISc began in 2021 and evolved through continued engagement between the two organisations.

“The inauguration of aTIC-India marks a proud and historic milestone for artience Group. It reflects our commitment to excellence, purposeful innovation, and long-term collaboration, rooted in quality, sustainability, and real-world relevance,” said Satoru Takashima, CEO, artience Group. The ceremony was held on 4 February 2026 at the IISc campus in Bengaluru

Toyo Ink India said the centre is designed as a research and co-creation platform bringing together academia and industry to address industrial challenges through advanced materials research. The company acknowledged the contribution of IISc professors and researchers in the establishment of the centre and invited industry partners to collaborate by presenting problem statements for joint development.

Established in 2007 in Delhi, Toyo Ink India Pvt. Ltd. is a subsidiary of Japan-based artience Co., Ltd. The company provides packaging and printing solutions, including inks, coatings, colour materials and related products for industrial markets. Its product portfolio includes offset inks, ultraviolet (UV)-curable inks, flexographic inks, gravure inks, solvent-free lamination adhesives, inkjet inks, polyurethane resins, colour masterbatches and pressure-sensitive adhesives.
