Assurance Intl Limited has relaunched the ACDelco automotive aftermarket brand in India through an official licensing and strategic partnership with General Motors. The arrangement designates Assurance Intl as the official licensee for ACDelco in the country, responsible for manufacturing, marketing and distribution of selected aftermarket products.
According to the company, the initial product portfolio includes automotive batteries and lubricants designed for passenger vehicles and commercial vehicles operating under Indian driving conditions. The products will be distributed through a multi-tier distribution network comprising retailers, distributors and service workshops across key automotive markets in the country.
Rakesh Sharma, Managing Director of Assurance Intl Limited, said the collaboration combines the aftermarket brand’s international presence with the company’s manufacturing and distribution capabilities in India. “This partnership is a natural synergy between ACDelco’s global legacy in automotive aftermarket solutions and Assurance Intl’s manufacturing expertise, quality experience and distribution capabilities in the Indian automotive sector,” Sharma said.
Mahesh Ravindran, Country Lead (India), Commercial Operations at Chevrolet Sales India, said the relaunch aligns with the company’s global aftermarket strategy. “The relaunch of ACDelco automotive batteries and lubricants products in India through an official licensing arrangement is aligned with our global aftermarket brand strategy. Assurance Intl’s operational capabilities and understanding of local market requirements provide a strong platform for the ACDelco brand in the country,” Ravindran said.
As part of the arrangement, Assurance Intl will manufacture automotive batteries under the ACDelco brand at its battery manufacturing facility in Hisar, Haryana. Lubricants will be produced at the company’s blending and packaging facility in Hisar, where a range of engine oils and automotive fluids will be manufactured for the domestic market.
The company said localised manufacturing is intended to support competitive pricing while maintaining product standards associated with the ACDelco brand. The collaboration may also explore future product development including eco-friendly lubricants and advanced battery technologies aligned with evolving vehicle technologies and sustainability trends.
