The Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) has implemented a “Top of Rail Friction Management Solution” across its network. The system is intended to improve train performance, reduce rail wear, and enhance energy efficiency on the dedicated freight corridors.

The system was inaugurated by DFCCIL Managing Director Praveen Kumar and attended by senior officials from DFCCIL, LORAM, and Vandhana International. DFCCIL noted that the initiative is part of its broader strategy to improve operational efficiency and sustainability in freight transportation.

The technology is expected to extend the lifespan of railway infrastructure and help lower maintenance costs. According to DFCCIL, the system aligns with ongoing efforts to modernize rail logistics and promote sustainable transport practices.

Senior DFCCIL officials present at the event included Pankaj Saxena (Director, Project Planning), Anurag Sharma (Director, Infrastructure), G. D. Bhagwani (Executive Director, Asset Management), Rakesh Kumar Gupta (Group General Manager, Track), and Anurag Yadav (General Manager Coordination, Noida).

DFCCIL is a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. It is responsible for the planning, construction, operation, and maintenance of dedicated freight corridors to enhance logistics efficiency and support economic growth through rail-based freight movement.
