Apollo Strategic Technologies Private Limited (ASTPL), a subsidiary of Apollo Defence Industries Private Limited, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Dynamic Engineering and Design Incorporation, United States, for technology transfer, co-development, and potential licensed production of rocket motors for BM-21 Grad ER and Non-ER rockets. The agreement was signed at DSEI London on 10 September 2025.

Trials of its indigenously developed 122 mm rocket warhead are set to begin shortly, with full-scale production targeted by mid-2026. The collaboration is expected to support integration of Apollo’s warheads with domestically manufactured rocket motors.

The BM-21 Grad system, a 122 mm artillery rocket, is used in multi-barrel rocket launchers for area saturation and suppression missions, with a range of up to 40 km. The company stated that producing rocket motors domestically would reduce import dependency, lower lifecycle costs, and enable faster scaling of production.

The MoU is a strategic step toward indigenising propulsion technologies for multi-barrel rocket systems and enhancing self-reliance in critical defence systems.

Apollo Strategic Technologies Private Limited is part of the Apollo Group, which is active in defence manufacturing. The group has previously developed the 122 mm rocket warhead in-house and is now working towards establishing an ecosystem for indigenous production of rocket systems.
