Neuver Maritime has signed a market representative agreement with Varya Tech Private Limited, formerly known as Norinco Pvt. Ltd, to expand its presence in India. The agreement is aimed at strengthening Neuver Maritime’s support for customers in the country’s maritime and shipbuilding sector.

“Varya Tech is the perfect match for us, with deep roots in the maritime and shipbuilding industry and a well-established service network across India. Together, we will enhance support for our customers in the region and build on their strong relationships with key partners,” said Jan Terje Aakre, CEO, Neuver Maritime.

The company stated that the partnership is intended to support its operations in India and contribute to building stronger regional relationships. The agreement comes in the context of growing India–Norway maritime cooperation, which includes collaboration in areas such as green shipping technologies, steering systems, and ship manoeuvring safety.

India’s maritime sector is undergoing investment and modernisation, supported by government policies that encourage technology partnerships and upgrades in equipment such as steering gear systems and manoeuvring solutions. Norwegian maritime equipment manufacturers are being encouraged to pursue technical collaborations in India, although Neuver Maritime’s activities in the country remain focused on sales and service rather than local manufacturing.

Neuver Maritime supplies steering gear and rudder solutions and reports that its systems are in use on more than 14,000 vessels worldwide. The company’s main physical facilities are located in Norway, the United States, China, Singapore, Poland, South Korea, and Italy, supported by a wider network of sales and service locations.
