GE Vernova has inaugurated its Wind Learning Center in Pune, India, which will act as the company’s central hub for wind technician training across the Asia-Pacific region. The facility, launched in September 2025, is intended to address the demand for skilled technicians in both Indian and regional wind energy markets.

The centre will provide training programmes designed to improve technician safety, service quality and operational preparedness. Similar to GE Vernova’s other global initiatives, the curriculum is expected to include modules on wind turbine technology, power systems and renewable grid integration, alongside hands-on training and online education platforms.

The initiative forms part of GE Vernova’s workforce development programmes and partnerships with educational institutions in the region. According to the company, the centre is positioned to support the renewable energy workforce requirements in Asia-Pacific.

GE Vernova reported that India is a strategic growth market, with plans to double its installed wind capacity in the country to 10 GW by 2030. The company currently employs more than 10,000 people in India and has manufacturing facilities in Pune and Halol. It holds around a 12 percent share of the domestic wind market and supplies a significant share of new installations in the country.

GE Vernova is a global energy technology company engaged in power, wind, electrification and grid solutions. Its operations span multiple regions, with activities ranging from equipment manufacturing to workforce training and renewable energy integration.
