Bosch Limited hosted German Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz at its Adugodi campus in Bengaluru on 13 January 2026 during his official visit to India, reflecting ongoing industrial and technological engagement between India and Germany.
The visit took place at Bosch’s India headquarters, where the delegation was received by Guruprasad Mudlapur, President of the Bosch Group in India and Managing Director of Bosch Limited. The interaction focused on technology development, engineering capabilities, and innovation programmes being undertaken by Bosch’s Indian operations as part of its global organisation.
During the visit, the delegation viewed a hydrogen internal combustion engine (H2ICE) demonstrator truck featuring a fully integrated powertrain and telematics system. The programme reflects Bosch’s work on hydrogen-based propulsion technologies developed through collaboration between teams in India and Germany, aimed at supporting low- and zero-emission mobility solutions.

The delegation was also briefed on Bosch’s software and digital engineering capabilities developed in India, including AIShield, an artificial intelligence security platform designed to enhance the protection and reliability of AI systems across their lifecycle. The platform is supported by more than 150 patents related to AI security technologies.
The visit highlighted cooperation between Indian and German stakeholders in mobility, manufacturing, and digital technologies, and the role of cross-border industrial collaboration in applied research and engineering. Bosch’s Indian operations contribute to global product development across automotive systems, industrial technology, and software-enabled mobility solutions.
