Bonfiglioli Transmissions Limited has appointed Ravindra Pisharody as Chairperson and Independent Director and inducted Sundaresan Ananthanarayanan and Rossella Schiavini as Independent Directors to its board. The appointments are aimed at strengthening the company’s board composition and governance framework, with the new roles taking effect from February 2026.
Pisharody has been elevated to the position of Chairperson and Independent Director after serving on the company’s board since 2018. The company stated that the move reflects its focus on reinforcing leadership continuity and strategic oversight at the board level.
Pisharody has more than 36 years of professional experience spanning marketing, sales and consumer-facing industries. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. Over his career, he has held senior leadership positions at Philips India Limited, BP India Private Limited, BP Singapore Pte Ltd and Tata Motors Limited. As of 31 December 2025, he held directorships in Happy Forgings Limited, Kinara Capital Private Limited, Kwality Walls India Limited, Muthoot Finance Limited, Savita Greentec Limited and Savita Oil Technologies Limited.
The company has also appointed Sundaresan Ananthanarayanan as an Independent Director, effective February 2026. Ananthanarayanan holds diplomas in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering and brings operational and engineering experience to the board. Prior to this appointment, he was associated with Ammann India Pvt. Ltd, where he was involved in operational and organisational responsibilities within the infrastructure and industrial equipment segment. As of 31 December 2025, he held a directorship in Ammann India Pvt. Ltd and did not hold any directorships in foreign body corporates.
Rossella Schiavini has been appointed as an Independent Director with effect from February 2026. She holds a Master of Science in Politics of the World Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London. The company stated that she brings international experience in corporate governance, finance and board-level decision-making, with prior board roles at Immobiliare Grande Distribuzione SIIQ S.p.A. and BPER Banca S.p.A.
Bonfiglioli Transmissions Limited is part of the Bonfiglioli Group, which designs, manufactures and distributes gearmotors, drive systems, planetary gearboxes and inverters for industrial automation, mobile machinery and renewable energy applications. Established in 1956, the group operates across 80 countries through multiple commercial and manufacturing locations.
In India, Bonfiglioli began operations in 1999 with a manufacturing facility in Chennai and has since expanded its manufacturing and assembly footprint across Chennai and Pune, supporting domestic and international markets.
