Jabil Inc., an engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain solutions provider, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the government of Gujarat. The agreement was formalized in Gandhinagar in the presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

This MoU, following a similar agreement with Tamil Nadu in September 2024, signals Jabil’s intention to expand its operations in India. The company aims to explore long-term growth opportunities in collaboration with both states.

Fred McCoy, Executive Vice President of Operations at Jabil, stated that the company’s expansion plans align with the growing needs of its customers in the Intelligent Infrastructure segment. This segment encompasses cloud, compute, storage, networking, telecommunications, semiconductor capital equipment, and data center infrastructure. McCoy added that the expansion may also open avenues for Jabil’s customers in the automotive and transportation sectors to consider manufacturing in India.

In recent months, Jabil’s Intelligent Infrastructure segment has introduced investments in silicon photonics products, liquid cooling solutions for thermal management, and scalable server portfolios to meet the increasing demands of next-generation cloud and AI data centers.

According to the Gujarat government, the collaboration with Jabil reflects shared ambitions to foster long-term growth and explore sustainable development opportunities.

The MoU highlights Jabil’s continued focus on India as a strategic location for business development, aligning with the country’s manufacturing and technological growth potential.
