Caterpillar Inc. has opened a new office in the Whitefield suburb of Bangalore (Bengaluru), Karnataka, to enhance its digital capabilities. The office will primarily support Cat Digital, its technology division focused on leveraging data and digital infrastructure to optimize heavy machinery performance.

The new facility includes collaborative workspaces, an Employee Experience Centre, and a lab for Cat Digital teams. It will accommodate 30% of Cat Digital’s workforce in India, with the remaining 70% based in Chennai.

Akash Jain, India Leader for Cat Digital, stated that India’s talent pool plays a key role in Caterpillar’s growth strategy. The company first began its Bangalore operations in 2020 with a small team and has since expanded to support digital innovation in areas such as fleet management, condition monitoring, and e-commerce for its customers and dealers.

Caterpillar has been operating in India for 53 years and has invested in five manufacturing facilities and two R&D centers, employing over 7,000 people across the country.
