DSV, a Danish transport and logistics company, has inaugurated a new 56,000 square-foot logistics facility in Serampore, Hooghly, approximately an hour from Kolkata. The development marks an expansion of Solutions India’s operations in the eastern region.
The facility was opened by Gaurav Gupta, Managing Director of Solutions India, and the DSV team. Positioned strategically near the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport (60 minutes away) and the region’s dry port (80 minutes away), it is designed to enhance logistics operations in the area.
Key features of the warehouse include:
- A ceiling height of 12 meters.
- High-Density Racking Systems (HDR).
- Advanced dock levelers for streamlined operations.
- 24/7 CCTV surveillance for enhanced security.
- Comprehensive fire safety measures.
- A dedicated 500-600 sq. ft. area for value-added service activities.
The facility incorporates technology-driven inventory management systems, energy-efficient practices, and flexible storage solutions. It is expected to improve turnaround times and accuracy in order fulfillment while prioritizing worker safety and environmental considerations.
This addition aims to meet the growing market demand, offering increased storage capacity and enhanced logistics services for the eastern region.
