Ezz LCV, the authorized distributor for TVS Motor Company in Egypt, has inaugurated a new assembly line in Giza to bolster local manufacturing of TVS two-wheelers. The project represents an investment of approximately $6.5 million (around ₹54 crore) and is expected to achieve an annual production capacity of 100,000 units.
The facility will manufacture key TVS models, including the Apache RTR Series, HLX Series motorcycles, and the XL 100 moped. The move aims to enhance delivery times, support the distributor’s dealer network, and cater to the preferences of Egyptian customers.
TVS Motor’s current product offerings in Egypt include models such as the Apache RTR 200 4V, Apache RTR 160 4V, Star HLX 150, and HLX 150 F. The assembly line is part of a broader strategy to localize production, ensuring the company can meet growing demand while maintaining quality standards.
Amr Ezz El Alarab, CEO of Ezz LCV, highlighted the significance of the partnership with TVS over the past five years and stated that the facility will focus on producing seven flagship models for the local market.
In addition to local production efforts, TVS Motor has reported a strong export performance in the first nine months of FY2025, shipping 777,622 two-wheelers globally. This represents a 19% year-on-year growth, driven primarily by motorcycles, which accounted for 700,923 units (up 25%). Moped exports also increased significantly by 218% to 5,274 units.
TVS Motor Company’s continued export growth and strategic moves, including the Giza facility, underscore its focus on expanding its international footprint and meeting diverse market demands.
