Jupiter Electric Mobility (JEM), a subsidiary of Jupiter Wagons Limited, has announced a partnership with logistics platform Porter to advance the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in the commercial transport sector. The collaboration focuses on integrating JEM’s light commercial electric vehicle, JEM Tez, into Porter’s operations across 22 cities.

Under the agreement, Porter will support the onboarding of drivers and small business owners who opt to use JEM Tez vehicles for their logistics operations. The initiative forms part of JEM’s Udaan program, which provides drivers and entrepreneurs with resources such as professional training, business support, and access to EV-related services through JEM’s dealership network.

Porter’s network of over 750,000 drivers will have access to guidance on using electric mobility solutions to optimize their business operations and revenue opportunities. This collaboration also aims to promote environmentally sustainable practices in logistics by encouraging the adoption of EVs.

Speaking on the partnership, Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Group, said, “The collaboration with Porter reflects our commitment to advancing sustainable business practices in logistics. Through the JEM Udaan program, we aim to empower drivers to build their entrepreneurial ventures while adopting environmentally friendly solutions.”

Tanuj Khandelwal, Vice President of Porter, highlighted the initiative’s significance, stating, “The JEM Udaan program represents a meaningful step toward fostering green logistics. By working with Jupiter Electric Mobility, we aim to empower individuals with the tools and skills needed to improve their livelihoods while supporting sustainable practices.”

According to a press release issued by the company, the partnership is intended to benefit local operators and small businesses while supporting broader efforts toward a greener logistics ecosystem.

The initiative reflects a growing trend in the logistics industry toward incorporating electric mobility to reduce environmental impact and enhance economic opportunities for small-scale operators.
