German adhesive manufacturer tesa SE has opened a new office in Chennai, India, as part of its ongoing expansion in the country. This development follows the company’s recent office relocations in Mumbai and the launch of a facility in Bangalore last year. The Chennai office aims to strengthen tesa’s presence in key industrial hubs, particularly within the automotive and electronics manufacturing sectors.
The Chennai facility is designed to operate self-sufficiently, utilizing solar panel installations to meet its energy requirements. This initiative aligns with tesa’s commitment to sustainability and its broader investment strategy in India.
In addition to the Chennai expansion, tesa has established a converting center in the Mahindra World City Industrial Park near Chennai. Since 2010, this 2,300-square-meter facility has been serving the local market by cutting and assembling products, especially for the electronics, automotive, and renewable energy industries. The center houses cutting and winding machinery, a warehouse, and a quality assurance laboratory.
With the addition of the Chennai office, tesa now operates from four key locations in India: Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, and Bangalore. This expanded footprint enables the company to enhance its service capabilities and foster closer partnerships with its rapidly growing customer base across India’s major industrial corridors.
The inauguration of the new office was attended by company representatives, including Shantanu Roy and project leader Stefan Detterbeck. This move is part of tesa’s long-term vision for the Indian market, reflecting confidence in the market’s potential.
