Schneider Electric has announced plans to open three new manufacturing plants in India as part of its ongoing investment in the country. The new facilities will be located in Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Ahmednagar, expanding the company’s existing network of 31 manufacturing plants.
Speaking at Elecrama 2025, Schneider Electric CEO Olivier Blum stated that the company is committed to sustained investment in India. The company has already announced an investment of ₹3,200 crore to expand its industrial footprint, with plans to add nearly 1.2 million square feet of manufacturing space by 2026.
India is one of Schneider Electric’s key global markets, and the company exports approximately two-thirds of its locally manufactured products worldwide. In addition to expanding production capacity, Schneider is investing in automation and digital technologies to modernize its operations. The company is also in the process of transforming its existing plants into “smart” facilities, with five already converted to incorporate sustainable manufacturing practices.
Separately, Schneider Electric is set to inaugurate its largest global factory in Bengaluru in 2025. The ₹425 crore facility is part of the company’s broader investment strategy and aligns with efforts to enhance manufacturing capabilities under India’s production-linked incentive scheme.
