SANY India has unveiled the SKT130S, a diesel-electric hybrid mining dump truck with a 100-tonne payload capacity. The truck, manufactured at SANY’s facility in Pune, features a regenerative braking system that charges a high-voltage battery during downhill movement, improving energy efficiency.
The SKT130S is equipped with a 925 kW engine and delivers a peak torque output of 3200 Nm. It has a heaped body volume of 61 cubic metres and is designed for large-scale mining operations. According to the company, the hybrid drive system allows for fuel savings of approximately 20 to 25 percent compared to conventional diesel-powered trucks.
Deepak Garg, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, SANY India and South Asia, stated, “The introduction of the SKT130S is a remarkable achievement in our journey towards driving innovation and self-reliance in India’s mining sector. As India’s first 100-tonne diesel-electric hybrid mining truck, it reflects our dedication to combining performance and sustainability through locally built solutions.”
The vehicle includes safety features such as a cabin with FOPS (Falling Object Protective Structure) and ROPS (Roll Over Protective Structure) certifications. It is also equipped with a 10-inch central control screen and an intelligent control module for streamlined operation.
The SKT130S is part of SANY India’s efforts to expand its presence in the mining equipment sector with locally manufactured solutions.
