Bansal Wire Industries Limited, a manufacturer of steel wires, is undertaking several capacity expansion and product diversification initiatives aimed at increasing market share and enhancing backward integration. The company has recently commissioned a 300,000-tonne capacity expansion at its Dadri facility, with an additional 120,000 tonnes expected to be added by the first half of FY26. Investment in capacity enhancements is planned every six months.

As part of its diversification efforts, Bansal Wire has entered the specialty wire segment. A pilot project for Steel Tyre Cord has been launched with a capacity of 20,000 tonnes, targeting an annual demand of approximately 200,000 to 250,000 tonnes. The company is also planning to expand its Hose Wire project to become the sole Indian manufacturer and reduce dependence on imports. Additionally, the company has established a Bead Wire project with an annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes within an estimated market size of 450,000 tons per annum.

A new manufacturing facility is being set up in Sanand, Gujarat by a wholly owned subsidiary, with an investment of approximately INR 6 billion. The 42-acre site will house a proposed 180,000-tonne steel plant and a 60,000-tonne stainless steel wire facility, scheduled for completion by September 2027. The facility will support backward integration through the import of steel scrap and in-house production.

“We stand at an exciting milestone, poised to unlock the next phase of growth and opportunity. The past year has been truly transformative — marked by a successful IPO and the commissioning of our new, state-of-the-art plant dedicated to valueadded products. These milestones have laid a strong foundation and created a robust launchpad for the journey ahead. The consolidation of all our businesses under a single brand has not only sharpened our strategic focus but also significantly strengthened our leadership position in the Indian steel wire industry,” stated Pranav Bansal, Managing Director of Bansal Wire Industries Limited.

Bansal Wire is also implementing sustainability measures across its operations. These include the use of 70% renewable energy, energy-efficient machines, and sustainable waste management practices such as Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD). Additional initiatives include rainwater harvesting with a capacity of 6 million litres and acid-free cleaning at the new Sanand facility.

Bansal Wire Industries Limited is engaged in the production of steel wires and related products. The company operates multiple manufacturing facilities and serves a range of industrial sectors across India.
