Sievert 20 Microns Building Materials Pvt. Ltd., a joint venture between Germany-based Sievert SE and India’s 20 Microns Ltd., has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in India for construction chemicals. The plant will initially produce tile adhesives and waterproofing solutions under the Hahne brand, with plans to expand into a broader range of building materials.

The joint venture, incorporated in January 2024, combines Sievert SE’s experience in building materials with 20 Microns Ltd.’s presence in the Indian market. The new facility aims to serve professional users in the construction sector with high-performance materials.

20 Microns Ltd. is a publicly listed company in India, with operations in multiple states and a presence in countries including Dubai, Malaysia, and Vietnam. The company exports waterproofing products to over 68 countries and serves more than 200 clients across various industries. In the financial year 2023–24, 20 Microns Ltd. added over 10 products to its offerings and expanded into new markets in Eastern Europe, Russia, Italy, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.

Sievert SE, headquartered in Osnabrück, Germany, is involved in the production of building materials. In 2022, the company began operations at its Rosenau II dry mortar plant in southern Germany, which has an annual capacity of over 100,000 tonnes. The plant incorporates energy-efficient technologies, including a carbon-neutral heating system and on-site photovoltaic power generation.

The establishment of the new manufacturing facility by Sievert 20 Microns Building Materials Pvt. Ltd. represents a strategic move to enhance the supply of construction chemicals in the Indian market.
