Epiroc India, a manufacturer of industrial equipment, has launched a new utility vehicle for mining applications at the Hindustan Zinc Kayad site, marking its entry into a new product segment. The development is part of the company’s broader efforts to expand its manufacturing footprint and product offerings in India.

The vehicle is designed to support mining operations by enhancing mobility and operational efficiency. The company stated that the product introduction aligns with its goal of strengthening local capabilities and meeting the evolving needs of the mining sector.

Epiroc India, incorporated in 2017 as Epiroc Mining India Limited, operates manufacturing facilities in Nashik and Hyderabad, with its main office located in Pune. The company recently expanded its Hyderabad operations by opening a new facility focused on rock drilling tools and rock reinforcement products.

The expansion aims to increase local production capacity and support employment. Epiroc India currently employs approximately 1,600 people and is estimated to contribute around 3 percent to the Epiroc Group’s global revenues as of 2024.

The company manufactures and supplies drill rigs, rock drilling tools, trucks, loaders, and related equipment for sectors including mining, construction, demolition, and oil and gas.
