3A Composites India Private Limited is expanding the domestic manufacturing footprint of its aluminium composite panel product Alucore to cater to growing demand from architectural and infrastructure projects in India. The expansion focuses on strengthening production and application of the material from the company’s manufacturing facility at Ranjangaon near Pune, Maharashtra, as part of its broader manufacturing operations in the country.

Alucobond, a flagship brand of Swiss-based 3A Composites, is increasing the availability of Alucore in India through two product variants manufactured locally: aluminium honeycomb panels and aluminium corrugated core panels. The products are designed for façade cladding, roofing and structural architectural applications where lightweight construction and mechanical performance are required.

Alucore is produced on an automated production line at the Ranjangaon facility to ensure uniform quality, flatness and surface finish. The plant manufactures panels with different core structures, including aluminium honeycomb cores and corrugated aluminium cores, bonded between aluminium skins. The company said this allows it to supply products with varying rigidity and load-bearing characteristics to suit different project requirements.

The company stated that local manufacturing supports faster supply to Indian infrastructure projects while also enabling exports to markets in Asia Pacific and the Middle East. Alucore panels manufactured in India are currently supplied for use in airports, commercial buildings, transport infrastructure and large public facilities. Existing domestic applications include airport terminals, commercial towers and large retail developments.

From a technical standpoint, the company said the aluminium honeycomb variant offers a high strength-to-weight ratio and resistance to wind loads, while the corrugated core variant provides structural rigidity for large-format panels. The panels are manufactured using marine-grade aluminium alloys and meet Class A2-s1, d0 fire performance requirements under European fire testing standards, according to the company.

Alucore was first launched internationally in 1994 and has been used in large-scale global infrastructure projects. In India, the company said continued manufacturing at its Ranjangaon facility positions it to support upcoming construction and infrastructure developments with locally produced aluminium composite materials.

3A Composites India Private Limited is the Indian arm of 3A Composites, which manufactures aluminium composite materials and related façade products for architectural, transportation and industrial applications.
