Wipro Kawasaki Precision Machinery Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd., has reached 200,000 units in cumulative shipments of hydraulic pumps and hydraulic motors to Indian domestic customers as of 30 January 2026. The milestone marks a doubling of cumulative shipments from 100,000 units recorded in February 2023.

“Moving forward, we will continue to position WiproKPM as a key production base in India, contributing to the local economy including through employment as well as advanced technological and quality capabilities, while actively expanding our business operations,” Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. said in a statement.

The subsidiary manufactures and sells hydraulic products in India, primarily serving the domestic construction machinery market. The company commenced operations in December 2012 as a joint venture with Wipro Enterprises Private Limited, formerly Wipro Limited, and functions as a production, sales, and service base for hydraulic equipment.

The joint venture was established to strengthen competitiveness in Kawasaki’s precision machinery business, which focuses mainly on hydraulic pumps and hydraulic motors for construction machinery. Wipro Kawasaki Precision Machinery mainly supplies hydraulic equipment to domestic customers in India and has promoted local parts procurement and the employment of local personnel as part of its operations.

In 2019, the company opened a new plant and expanded its production capacity to respond to fluctuations in customer demand. It has also broadened its product portfolio from initially producing a single model of hydraulic excavator pump to manufacturing six types of hydraulic excavator pumps, three types of hydraulic excavator motors, and one type each of backhoe loader and telehandler pumps.

Kawasaki said the hydraulic equipment market for construction machinery in India continues to expand alongside economic development, and that Indian domestic customers’ evaluations of its product quality and reliability have been growing. As a result of these developments and capacity expansion, cumulative shipments reached 100,000 units in February 2023 and doubled to 200,000 units in January 2026.
