AS-Schneider India, the Indian subsidiary of Germany-based AS-Schneider, has inaugurated a new production facility in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, expanding the company’s manufacturing footprint in India and integrating the site into its global production network. The facility produces valves and manifolds for the process industry and supports demand in India and the wider Asia-Pacific region.
Production activities at the Coimbatore facility began in stages during the previous year before the official inauguration. The event was marked by a ceremonial lighting attended by Chief Executive Officer Andreas Ripsam and Managing Director Umar Mukthar.
The facility will manufacture instrumentation valves and manifolds used in process industry applications. The company said the new site forms part of its broader strategy to strengthen production capabilities closer to customers in the region and improve supply support for the Asia-Pacific market.
AS-Schneider has been active in India since 2020. The Coimbatore plant represents the company’s first production facility in the country and will support regional manufacturing and engineering activities as operations scale up.
Founded more than 150 years ago, AS-Schneider manufactures instrumentation valves and double block and bleed valves used in industrial applications. The company employs approximately 400 people and also produces industrial valves for large-bore diesel engines used in marine propulsion and power generation.
