Sigma Advanced Systems Limited has completed the divestment of its entire 36.52 percent equity stake in Extrovis AG, a Switzerland-based pharmaceutical company. The transaction generated USD 15 million, providing additional financial flexibility as the company expands its aerospace and defence operations.

The proceeds from the divestment amount to approximately INR 1.3761 billion. The company said the move forms part of a portfolio rationalisation strategy aimed at transforming Sigma into a pureplay aerospace and defence platform by exiting a non-core pharmaceutical investment.

“The divestment of our stake in Extrovis AG is a deliberate step in sharpening Sigma’s focus as a global aerospace and defence manufacturing company. As we scale our capabilities following the Nasmyth and AS Strategic acquisition and deepen our presence in international defence ecosystems, it is important that our capital and strategic priorities remain aligned with this direction. This transaction strengthens our balance sheet and gives us greater flexibility to invest in new capabilities, pursue strategic opportunities, and support the next phase of Sigma’s growth,” said Sunil Kalidindi, CEO of Sigma Advanced Systems.

Sigma has been expanding its aerospace and defence platform through acquisitions and international partnerships. The company recently acquired Delhi-based AS Strategic, a defence and space-focused firm that operates through long-term joint ventures and exclusive service partnerships with European and global defence original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).

The acquisition follows Sigma’s earlier purchase of the Nasmyth Group in the United Kingdom. According to the company, the Nasmyth acquisition strengthened its precision manufacturing capabilities, special processes, and Tier-1 supply chain integration, while AS Strategic adds programme access, customer relationships, and system-level participation within European defence ecosystems.

Sigma said it secured new orders worth approximately INR 1 billion last month from India’s Ministry of Defence and associated defence public sector undertakings (PSUs). The orders relate to defence electronics and other mission-critical systems that involve long qualification cycles and stringent reliability standards.

Sigma Advanced Systems Limited, formerly Megasoft Limited, is an aerospace and defence manufacturing company with more than three decades of manufacturing experience. The company operates across India and the United Kingdom, with expansion underway in the United States, producing aero-engine and aerostructure components and supplying systems and assemblies to aerospace and defence original equipment manufacturers.
