Rinac India Limited, a provider of cold chain and temperature-controlled infrastructure solutions, today formally announced a strategic partnership with Epta, a Milan-headquartered provider of commercial refrigeration systems for the retail, hotel, restaurant, catering (Ho.Re.Ca.), and food & beverage sectors.
“Our partnership with Rinac enables us to localize advanced European refrigeration systems with unmatched after-sales support,” said Andrea Cavalet, Sub-Regional Manager for Middle East, India, East and South Africa, and Managing Director of Epta Refrigeration India Pvt. Ltd.
“This collaboration exemplifies what Italy and India can achieve together,” said Italian Consul General Alfonso Tagliaferri, who was present at the announcement. “Bilateral trade between India and Italy is growing and has now surpassed EUR 14 billion. Notably, 40% of our exports to India are in precision manufacturing, highlighting the strength and complementarity of our industrial sectors.”
“With Epta’s world-class refrigeration technology and Rinac’s trusted presence across India, we are shaping a smarter, more energy-efficient future for Indian retail—one defined by engaging display aesthetics and operational reliability,” said P. Sukumaran, Co-Founder and Joint Managing Director, Rinac India Limited.
To mark the collaboration, Rinac and Epta inaugurated an experience center to showcase Epta’s premium visibility coolers—including the Rock, Crystal, Glad, Opera, Armonia, Delight, and Melody series—alongside Rinac’s flagship units, the Preserva and Sapphire ranges.
Earlier this month, Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister for Commerce and Industry, met with Marco Nocivelli, CEO of Epta, during a bilateral engagement aimed at strengthening industrial cooperation between India and Italy. The meeting underscored the growing alignment between Indian and Italian manufacturing priorities, and set the stage for deeper collaborations such as the Rinac-Epta partnership.
Headquartered in Milan, Italy, Epta employs over 8,000 people and has a presence in more than 100 countries, with 11 production units located in Limana (Belluno), Solesino (Padua), Casale Monferrato, and Pomezia (Rome) in Italy; Hendaye in France; Bradford in the United Kingdom; Columbus in the United States; Rosario in Argentina; Çorlu in Turkey; Qingdao in China; and Cha-Am in Thailand.
Rinac, on the other hand, operates two manufacturing facilities in Bengaluru, Karnataka, and Murbad, Maharashtra. These facilities feature semi-automatic sandwich panel production lines, CNC-controlled fabrication systems, laser cutting machines, cooling coil punching equipment, bullet expansion machines, vacuum bonding jigs, and multi-directional pipe bending machines. With a revenue exceeding INR 5 billion, Rinac employs over 600 professionals and operates in 23 countries.
Over time, Epta is expected to begin manufacturing operations in India as part of this strategic alignment.
