ARaymond India has inaugurated a new plant in the Chakan industrial belt near Pune as part of its expansion phase to scale production of advanced fastening and fluid-line assembly solutions for automotive and related sectors. The facility enhances the company’s manufacturing footprint in the region, where it has operated since 2013, and is intended to meet rising demand from domestic and export programmes. The development reinforces the company’s plan to increase localisation and support customers transitioning to modern vehicle platforms.
The new plant has been established within the company’s existing site at Nighoje, Chakan Industrial Area, Phase III, which serves as its primary manufacturing base in the country. The upgraded unit is positioned to expand capabilities in fastening systems and Quick Connectors for fuel, cooling, and air-conditioning lines, alongside a range of clips, straps, and other plastic and metal components used in vehicle assembly. ARaymond has indicated that the facility is designed to strengthen production for applications linked to e-mobility, safety systems, and contemporary automotive architectures.
Operations at Chakan have historically included multiple injection moulding lines, beginning with eight machines and scalable toward nearly thirty. The site has produced close to a thousand part numbers monthly for original equipment manufacturers and Tier-1 suppliers. It is supported by a fully equipped quality and testing laboratory and operates under IATF 16949 certification, which lists the Chakan location as a certified manufacturing site. The expanded facility is expected to enhance throughput in fluid-line assemblies and connection technologies that enable cleaner and more efficient vehicle systems.
ARaymond serves major passenger and commercial vehicle manufacturers and system suppliers in India. Localisation through the new Chakan plant is intended to shorten development cycles and improve delivery responsiveness for customers within the Pune automotive cluster and beyond. The company’s India operations supply components to vehicle manufacturers and Tier-1 suppliers across fuel-handling systems, thermal management, and interior and exterior fastening applications.
The plant was inaugurated in the presence of ARaymond Group leadership, including Executive Vice President Emmanuel Le Flem and ARaymond India Managing Director Manish Padharia, signalling a long-term commitment to the Indian market. Company representatives have highlighted capacity expansion, increased local content, and alignment with automotive technology transitions as strategic priorities.
ARaymond, founded in 1865, specialises in fastening and assembly solutions for automotive, industrial, energy, and life sciences applications, and operates manufacturing sites across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. ARaymond is headquartered in Grenoble, France.
