Thales has inaugurated a new avionics Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) facility in Gurugram, near New Delhi airport. The centre, certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in December 2024, will provide maintenance and repair services for avionics components used by Indian airlines, including Air India and IndiGo.

The facility is part of Thales’s expansion strategy in India’s aviation sector. According to the company, the Gurugram centre will offer localised support to airlines, reducing turnaround times for avionics repairs.

Thomas Got, Vice President of Aviation Global Services at Thales, stated that India’s MRO industry is expected to grow significantly, and the new facility is intended to enhance service capabilities for airline customers in the region.

The inauguration event was attended by Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, representatives from the French Embassy, and senior executives from Thales.
