Trutzschler India Private Limited has inaugurated a new textile machinery manufacturing facility in Sanand GIDC. The plant covers 36,000 square meters and represents a significant investment in infrastructure, machinery, and processes to align with Trutzschler’s global production strategy.

According to the company, the facility includes high-speed laser cutting machines from Trumpf, CNC press brake systems from Weinbrenner, roll bending machines, machining centers from Hueller Hille (MAG), turning centers from Magdeburg and Monforts, turn-mill centers from DMG and Mazak, and a powder coating plant from GEMA. These upgrades have increased production capacity and are intended to replicate advanced manufacturing practices used in Germany.

The facility also supports Trutzschler’s card clothing division with equipment such as flat top pin setting machines, grinding cylinders, and a Profile wire line for rigid wire. Lean manufacturing and the 5S methodology have been implemented to improve material flow, productivity, and waste reduction. The company holds ISO 9001:2008 certification.

The Sanand facility is Trützschler Group’s largest manufacturing plant globally, marking a significant expansion of its production capabilities in India. The group, which entered the Indian market through a joint venture with A.T.E. Group in 1981 under the name Trumac Engineering Co. Ltd., began by manufacturing blowroom machines in Ahmedabad. Over the years, the company introduced various generations of carding machines to the Indian market, including the DK740, DK760, TC3, TC5, TC10, TC15, and TC19i models. Local manufacturing of DK740 machines started in 1993, followed by DK780 and the TC series.

Trützschler India expanded its portfolio to include drawframes, combers, and card clothing manufacturing. India now serves as a manufacturing hub for combers within the Trützschler Group. According to the company, over 18,000 carding machines have been delivered to Indian customers to date.

The new plant at Sanand was inaugurated on April 30 and attended by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Member of Parliament Purshottam Rupala, along with Trützschler Group board members from Germany, including Heinrich Trützschler, Charlotte Trützschler, Dr. Michael Schüerenkrämer, Eda Schüerenkrämer, Florian Schüerenkrämer, and Caroline Schüerenkrämer. The launch of the TC26i card model was also held during the event, which included customers, suppliers, and company employees.

Trutzschler India began operations in 1977 under the name Trumac. Initially producing blow room machines, it later expanded to include cards in 1992 and draw frames in 2002. Since 2009, it has offered Trutzschler-branded machinery in the Indian market. The company is active in spinning preparation and card clothing, and also supports the Trutzschler Group’s nonwovens activities in India.
