Inteva Products LLC, a global supplier of automotive systems and components, is expanding its operations in India with a new manufacturing facility in Pune and the rollout of advanced product technologies. The company said the investment of INR 500 million will strengthen its local manufacturing base, create more than 400 jobs, and enhance integration with regional supply chains.
The new facility will complement the company’s existing Pune plant and its India Technical Centre in Bengaluru. The expansion aims to increase production capacity while supporting the development of lightweight, energy-efficient and safety-focused automotive solutions for Indian original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
Inteva plans to introduce a range of next-generation products, including frameless window regulators, multiple types of actuators, its compact SLIM motor, and systems such as E-Latches and power tailgates. These products are designed to improve vehicle safety, support electrification and reduce overall vehicle weight.
The company’s Bengaluru Technical Centre, staffed by more than 320 professionals including over 180 engineers, will continue to serve as a global hub for product design, validation and simulation. The centre plays a key role in Inteva’s innovation pipeline and provides engineering support to its global operations.
In line with its sustainability objectives, Inteva has installed a 335-kW solar power system comprising over 1,000 panels at its Pune plant. The initiative is part of the company’s wider efforts to cut carbon emissions and adopt repurposed materials in manufacturing. Inteva also participates in customer-driven environmental, social and governance (ESG) programmes to promote sustainable industrial practices.
“Inteva’s expansion in India reflects our confidence in the region’s growth potential and our shared journey towards innovative and sustainable mobility,” said Gerard Roose, President and CEO of Inteva Products.
“We are excited to deepen our partnerships with OEMs in India, invest in advanced manufacturing and create meaningful opportunities that fuel automotive growth across the country. This expansion aligns with the Make in India initiative and underscores our commitment to delivering localised, customer-centric solutions,” said Sanjay Kataria, Vice President and Managing Director, India and Rest of Asia, Inteva Products.
Headquartered in Troy, Michigan, Inteva Products LLC designs and manufactures closure systems, roof systems, motors and electronics, and interior systems for global automotive customers. The company operates more than 30 facilities worldwide.
