Hettich India, a manufacturer of furniture fittings, is undertaking key developments at its manufacturing plants in Vadodara and Indore as part of its ongoing expansion and sustainability initiatives. Andre Eckholt, Managing Director at Hettich, recently visited the plants to witness these developments.

At the Indore facility, Hettich is starting operations of its first machines in a newly constructed extension of the plant. This expansion is aimed at supporting future production growth, with a second facility in Indore expected to become operational in 2025. The site has space to accommodate two more factories as part of the company’s long-term manufacturing strategy.

Hettich is also launching a B.Tech program for its employees at Medicaps University in Indore, intended to support workforce upskilling and talent development within the organization.

In December 2024, Hettich announced plans to double its investment in India over the subsequent five years, building on the INR 20 billion already invested in the country over the past decade. India is viewed as a complementary manufacturing hub to the company’s German operations.

The company is continuing to expand its domestic market footprint. It operates 12 company-owned Hettich Experience Centres and is planning to introduce franchise-based Hettich Exclusive Centres in tier-1 cities. Over the next two years, Hettich is aiming to open 100 additional experiential touchpoints across the country.

Hettich India has diversified its product offerings beyond furniture fittings to include door hardware and built-in appliances. It recently added the KA 5332 A5 Drawer Runner and Onsys 3447i SlideOn Hinge to its India-made product line. The KA 5332 A5 is a full-extension telescopic runner with a 35 kg load capacity, while the Onsys 3447i hinge includes a silent system and a slide-on assembly.

Hettich India is the Indian subsidiary of Germany-based Hettich Group, a manufacturer of furniture fittings. Its India operations include manufacturing facilities in Vadodara and Indore, a network of retail experience centres, and over 2,000 dealership accounts. The company’s portfolio in India includes 15,000–20,000 SKUs.
