Manaksia Coated Metals & Industries Limited upgraded its Continuous Galvanising Line at its manufacturing facility in Kutch, Gujarat, adding aluminium-zinc coating capability and expanding installed capacity. The project was completed following a planned shutdown and is intended to support the company’s shift towards higher-value coated steel products.
The upgrade involved converting the existing galvanising line from conventional galvanised steel to aluminium-zinc coated steel, along with improvements in line speed and operating efficiency. The installed capacity of the Continuous Galvanising Line has increased from 132,000 tonnes per annum to 180,000 tonnes per annum.
The company stated that the expanded capacity is aimed at meeting rising demand for aluminium-zinc coated steel, which offers enhanced corrosion resistance compared with traditional galvanised products. The upgraded line is expected to improve productivity, enhance energy efficiency, and optimise coating costs per tonne.
The commissioning forms part of the company’s broader strategy to improve operating efficiencies and strengthen its product mix towards higher-margin offerings. The upgraded facility is also expected to improve scalability and support growth across both domestic and export markets. The manufacturing unit is located close to Kandla and Mundra ports, providing logistical advantages for imports, exports, and coastal distribution.
“The successful aluminium-zinc technology upgrade of our Continuous Galvanising Line marks an important step in strengthening our value-added product portfolio,” said Karan Agrawal, Whole Time Director of Manaksia Coated Metals & Industries Limited. “The capacity expansion to 180,000 tonnes per annum enhances our ability to address growing demand for premium aluminium-zinc coated steel.”
For the first half of the 2025–26 financial year, the company reported consolidated total income of INR 4.78 billion, EBITDA of INR 580.7 million, and net profit of INR 279.7 million.
